I Believe in Me (a Poem)

Often I feel

nothing goes right

when I decide a path

make a plan

begin a journey.

There are starts and stops

mistakes

wrong turns

over and over

but again I try.

Determined to make it

I continue this road

lessons learned

become challenges ahead.

Driven by a desire

to see a better way

I’ll modify and strategize

until I see the light.

Losing believers along my route,

I continue undeterred.

Focused on the end

I’ll make my way somehow.

Failures provide opportunities

new avenues and ideas.

I see so closely

where I want to be

dreams and hopes

faithfully guide me

through the darkness.
